Curator Wanted 2012

ON325 - FEB/2012

Emma Brasó has been chosen by the Madrid Community in the “Curator Wanted 2012” competition for her Empathetic Art Room project. She will be in charge of drafting the display programme for the Young Art Hall during the first semester of 2012. The proposal tackles the concept of empathy from different perspectives through three exhibitions; the jury, comprising art critics and experts, has emphasised its exhibition format and the parallel activities organised around it, which include talks, screenings and workshops.

The competition, for which 24 projects from very different disciplines were entered, represents an initiative of the regional government for supporting emerging art and the most avant-garde projects while offering artists under 35 years old the opportunity of entering the contemporary art circuit through curating.

Prizes worth 90,000 euros will serve to finance a project, which will also be accompanied by a publication that will document all the actions undertaken in it. The public will also be able to view the rest of the proposals, which will be displayed at the Madrid Community Young Art

Hall from March 2012.
