13th Terras Gauda International Poster Design Biennial

Until 30 September 2017

The poster design biennial with the highest international prestige organised by a private body is inviting more than 150,000 graphic designers, design studios, universities and the principal associations from 178 countries around the world to participate in the Francisco Mantecón Competition.

The graphic and typeface designer Pepe Gimeno is the jury’s reference professional. The winner of numerous international awards for his brilliant career, he will be accompanied by Enrique Cotillas, deputy director of Graphics and Computer Graphics of the Spanish broadcaster TVE and the winner of a Laus Award, among others. Another jury member is the Polish Angelika Jaglinksa, who won first prize at the contest’s last staging.

Graphic artists with a relevant trajectory grace the list of award-winners of the Francisco Mantecón Competition, such as the Art and Design professor of Osaka University (Japan), Shima Takahiro, the designer Thomas Pion (Belgium), Vittorio Turla (Italy), Sebastian Büsching (Berlin), Taber Calderón (United States), the Spaniard Cristina Vergara Echarri and Barbara Pilarska (Poland).

All the posters entered in the Biennial will be displayed over a month-long period in Vigo’s Harbour Station. 1,310 posters from 59 countries were entered in the last edition, a figure that confirms the outreach and prestige enjoyed abroad by this Biennial.

The Bodegas Terras Gauda winery is awarding 16,000 euros in cash prizes in the only private cultural initiative of these characteristics to be organised worldwide by a winery.

The deadline for entering works is 30 September.
