Nomadic Homes

A volume illustrated, written and published by Philip Jodidio on nomadic dwellings in all kinds of shapes, sizes and characteristics, each one accompanied by photographs of interiors and exteriors as well as information on their conception, designer and occupants.

The itinerant homes featured shape a tapestry of possibilities of moving architecture, from representative motorhomes to luxurious mega-yachts as well as extravagant sea homes such as the Urban Rigger project, the BIG and the Manta Underwater Room in Zanzibar, whose bedroom is below sea level. In contrast, we will discover constructions for refugees created for people who have been forced to flee, such as those designed by the architect Shigeru Ban, a Pritzker Prize winner.

Philip Jodidio is considered to be one of the most outstanding scholars in contemporary architecture. His impressive published work is testament to his profound knowledge of space, materials and forms. His publications present the principles of modern design, with magnificent examples of residences, public spaces and retail buildings that facilitate the comprehension of processes such as planning, design and construction in architecture and provide a sharp overview of the elusive magic that transforms a utilitarian physical structure into a work of art.

Multilingual edition: Spanish, Italian and Portuguese.
