Light + Building 2018

APR/2018

Considered to be one of the most influential trade fairs in the world in the field of lighting, electro-technology and automation for homes and buildings, this year’s edition held from 18 to 23 March in Frankfurt attracted more than 220,000 professional visitors.

A total of 2,714 exhibitors from 55 countries presented their novelties at this new staging, which had the digitisation of everyday life, security technology and aesthetics and wellbeing in harmony as its central themes.

The trade fair site hosted the special exhibition “Secure! Connected Security in Buildings”, a space designed for giving visitors a first-hand view of demonstrations on security technologies. The space, which occupied the new additional hall 9.1, also hosted an information and exhibitor area with the most novel products in building security and automation.

The exhibitor offering was completed with Intersec, the forum specialising in networked security technology for buildings staged in the same German city, to coincide with the fair. In addition, the “Luminale” biennial on lighting art and urban design was also presented in parallel with the staging of Light + Building, with a programme encompassing 149 projects, light installations, actions and debates. On occasion of the ninth edition of the festival, the organisers linked up light and art through a forum on the urban challenges of the 21st century.

The next Light + Building edition will take place from 8 to 13 March 2020 in Frankfurt.
