What do we learn from nature?

Security cameras that watch weeds, a float chair, an inflatable bed, linen hung out to dry that simulates people… These were some of the urban interventions we could see on Venice’s streets and canals during the Venice Architecture Biennale 2018.

Octavi Serra, an urban artist and former pupil of Elisava, Barcelona’s Design and Engineering University School, conceptually interpreted the projects of the five Elisava students selected as part of the “RCR. Dream and Nature_Catalonia in Venice” project, the initiative promoted by the Ramon Llull institute which represented Catalonia at the Venice Architecture Biennale.

The competition invited eight Catalan schools to come up with answers to the question of “What do we learn from nature?”. The selected proposals stand out for their interaction, respect, coexistence and the need to find solutions to improve man’s relationship with nature.
