Designing gastronomy spaces

The students of the Master’s in Interior Space Design of the IED Barcelona Design School have submitted their interior design projects for hotels and gastronomy spaces under the tutoring of the interior designer and course coordinator Natali Canas del Pozo of El Equipo Creativo.

On this occasion, the chosen establishment was the 4-star boutique hotel Murmuri, located on Barcelona’s Rambla de Catalunya, with a clientele consisting mainly of businesspeople, couples and small families.

The proposal consisted of reforming the foyer and rooms according to the guidelines that govern the establishment: silence, peace, calm; a characterful project that included the design of all technological solutions (selection of materials, sustainability criteria, lighting technology, etc.) in order to find responses to a customer’s real and specific needs not only from a conceptual and aesthetic viewpoint but also from a functional and even budget-related one.

The final result is a set of different proposals that transform the hotel’s accommodation into an unforgettable experience for the guest thanks to the design of the different rooms and services on offer.

The IED Barcelona provides university instruction specialising in various fields of design. Its educational offer also includes the Master’s in Interior Space Design Methodology, which addresses different spaces and scales in a multicultural context ranging from the human to the urban, from the context to the detail, always with a contemporary approach based on transdisciplinarity.
