Muji in Barcelona, connection between thought and design

Approximately 1,200m² distributed over 3 storeys is the space occupied by Muji's flagship store in the emblematic La Unión y El Fénix Building on Barcelona’s Paseo de Gracia.


The establishment offers all of the brand’s product categories: fashion collections for women, men and children, beauty products, furniture, kitchenware, utensils for the home, stationery, travel items, food and, as a novelty, books relating to sold products, product customisation services and a personal advisory service for furniture and storage.


Muji was founded in Japan in the early 1980s in answer to the era’s brand-driven consumerism. The Japanese label’s vision of taking the concept of no-brand quality products to foreign lands was launched in 1991 when it opened a store in London. Now, Muji—abbreviation of “Mujirushi Ryohin” (‘no-brand quality products’ in Japanese)—is present with 44 stores in Europe and in 29 countries worldwide.
