Casa Decor 2019

In its 54th edition, and after 7 years of exploring different areas of Madrid, Casa Decor returned to the district that in 1992 witnessed the birth of this major fair on interior design, trends, decoration and interior architecture: the Salamanca district.

The site chosen on this occasion was located on the corner of Núñez de Balboa with Juan Bravo. Built in 1925, it constitutes an example of the imposing dwellings built in Madrid’s expansion district, designed by the Seville architect Carlos María de Castro from 1860 onwards.

With 2,250m2 the building, with a rectangular floor plan and occupying a chamfered corner, has a ground floor and four storeys above it, plus two terraces with views of both streets. A central courtyard determines the layout of the dwellings over two wings and brings light into all interior rooms. Very high ceilings, wooden floorboards, original plasterwork and grilles are part of the décor of the fifty-five spaces that took part in this year's edition, designed by prominent industry professionals, such as Grow Creativity, Marisa Gallo, Patricia Bustos de la Torre, Ramón Esteve and Pepe Leal, among others.
