Inspired in Barcelona: Mediterranean Design

APR/2019

Light, colors, materials and decorative textures within the frame of a Mediterranean atmosphere. Barcelona’s lifestyle illuminated Milano Design Week 2019 with a selection of 25 collections of lamps by consolidated brands of the whole of Catalonia. The exhibition also featured furniture and textiles from consolidated company names together with less-well-known firms. In total, about 100 products reflected the Mediterranean aesthetics, with its decorative rules, essential forms and craft techniques combined with industrial techniques.

Ceramics, stone, wicker and rope, warm tones and linen fabrics sketched a map of Barcelona’s most traditional places: from its treets, the seaside promenade and parks with their outdoor tables and facilities that invite us to enjoy moments in the company of others, to domestic spaces, hospitality and work areas.

The installation, organized on the occasion of Fuorisalone 2019 by BCD Barcelona Centre de Disseny and designed by Emiliana Design Studio – Col.legi de Dissenyadors d’Interiors i Decoradors de Catalunya (School of Interior Designers and Decorators of Catalonia), was located in the generous exhibition room of a historical building on Via Dante 14.
