Shortlisted for FAD Awards 2019

These prestigious prizes awarded by ARQUIN-FAD (the FAD’s Interdisciplinary Space Design Association) have become a touchstone among professionals in the fields of architecture, interior design and urban planning. The FAD Awards to Architecture and Interior Design have reached their 61st edition, the International FAD Awards their 6th edition and the FAD Awards to Thought and Critique their 14th edition.

Of the 616 candidatures entered, this year’s juries, chaired by Fuensanta Nieto, Anne Lacaton and Roger Miralles, have shortlisted 37 works (25 in Architecture and Interior Design, 6 International and 6 in Thought and Critique). The winners will be announced at the prize-giving ceremony, which is due to be staged on 19 June, within the context of the Barcelona Design Week, which is jointly organized by the FAD (Promotion of Arts and Design) and the BCD (Barcelona Design Center).

The shortlisted works will be displayed from 18 May to 1 September in “The Best Design of the Year” exhibition at the Disseny Hub de Barcelona.

As in each staging, On Diseño gives broad coverage to these prizes, with a double issue featuring the shortlisted works in the four categories—Architecture, Interior Design, City and Landscape and Ephemeral Interventions—of the FAD Awards to Architecture and Interior Design; the International FAD Awards, and the FAD Awards to Thought and Critique.
