Reform of premises for office

Description Technical file

The work takes place on premises of reduced dimensions over two levels, inside which are two interior facades that permit a substantial modification of the interior space. The first of them is a screen constituted by a system of vertical slats and interstitial glass spaces that covers the entire free inner height of the premises; the second one is a longitudinal facade opposite the previous one, constituted by a elements understood as a series of filing cabinets that, as with the previous one, are lined in adhesive printed vinyl. The manipulation of one and the other modifies the perception of the interior space and conceals either of the interior elements.
The premises on which the work takes place features a relatively irregular floor plan developing just seventeen metres in length that can be interpreted as an elementary rectangle to one of whose laterals a second rectangle of clearly more reduced dimensions has been added. The available surface is complemented with a mezzanine of just over thirteen metres in length. Next to the access from the outside is the staircase that links the two interior levels of the premises.
A large part of the space available on the ground floor is occupied by a work zone with eight workstations, next to which is an individual office and a meeting room; the space on this floor is completed with subordinate spaces such as a server-storeroom, pantry and kitchen. The upper floor is occupied by a work room linked to an individual office, a small meeting room and two reduced technical spaces.
The premises are basically organised around two elements:
The first is a longitudinal interior facade made of vertical pine slats and glass interstices covering the entire free height of the premises. Its permeability permits concealing behind it any facilities required by the programme such as lavatory, storeroom and machinery room, and the spaces requiring greater levels of privacy such as the meeting rooms or the main offices.
The second of these elements is the longitudinal facade opposite the first one, constituted by cupboards that serve as archive. The finish of the doors is an adhesive vinyl with printed photography that joins up the two heights and shows the passer-by what the business deals in, which is the distribution of musical instruments.
These two facades regularise and qualify the central spaces on both floors, which are destined for general work zones.
The main facade has been conceived as a great pinewood frame that defines the interior activity and ensures optimal lighting for the premises. The presence of the double space immediately behind the facade allows it to operate as a reception and distributor and gives a glimpse from the outside of the dimension of the business.
