Pavilion of the Sun. European Week of Science and Technology 2006

FAD Awards finalist 2007  Ephemeral interventions
Description Technical file

As has been occurring since the year 2002, the Astrophysics Institute of Andalusia (IAA) and the Experimental Station del Zaidín (EEZ) of the Upper Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) participate very actively in the European Week of Science and Technology (SCyT 2006). Given that the year 2007 has been defined by the United Nations Organisation (UN) as the “International Heliophysics Year” or “International Year of the Sun”, it was recommended to undertake different initiatives dedicated to the Sun. This edition seeks to involve the citizens of Granada in an emblematic activity: during the whole week, an exhibition area is installed in the Paseo del Salón in the centre of Granada that serves to bring together the different activities throughout the SCyT. This Pavilion features a multidisciplinary exhibition on the Sun, a planetarium, solar telescopes, workshops, etc.
