Rural hotel Can Mora de Dalt

Josep Travesa, arquitecto. Interiorismo: Imma Mora

Description Technical file

This rural hotel has been installed in a typical, very well-conserved Catalan masía or country house, which has now undergone a notable restoration process. The building, which dates from the fifteenth century though the door lintel sports two inscriptions referring to the eighteenth century, houses eleven rooms around a courtyard with excellent vistas, which also operates as a natural distributor for the complex. From here the swimming pool is accessed, enveloped in a Mediterranean garden dominated by orange and lemon trees, jasmine and almond trees. A contemporary art gallery with successive exhibitions in the summer months adds the counterpoint to this establishment. The facade features a flattened arch and balconies in the upper floors. On one of its sides is a tower whose door has a straight lintel and windows framed in stone.
