Alumilux stand

JAIME PROUS ARCHITECTS | JAIME PROUS, ANTÓN MONEDERO, ÀLEX PINEDA

Description Technical file

The need for appeal and image inherent to this type of installation was addressed with a great deal of skill, in what could be defined as an attractive formalism with organic features.

The interior of the Construmat 2017 trade fair hosted the new stand for the company Alumilux, a pioneer in construction solutions in aluminium, metal and glass. A thousand eight hundred aluminium profiles hanging nine metres from the ceiling outlined a mantle adapted to the Cartesian rule through an organic geometry.
From the outside it generated confusion: it might recall the skeleton of a whale hanging in a nineteenth-century museum; or perhaps the hat in which the little prince saw a boa digesting an elephant. Anything to capture that same childish curiosity of the little prince. The mantle levitated its perimeter half a metre from the floor and up to five metres in the centre. In the interior, reflections and shadows built a cave of cathedral-like proportions. The intention was to showcase technological novelties, but above all to become a centre for vibrant debate and discussion that would attract the trade fair visitors.
The stand was designed as a dry construction with reus- able elements, including the profiles.
