Petra, The Stone Atelier

Description Technical file

The historical inspiration derived from the memory of the Stonehegen cromlech enables a stony discourse, unique to the brand, to be introduced into this new retail space in the context of an appealing interior space.

The Stone Atelier is a space where three activities coexist. On the one hand, it is an exhibition space for the Stonehegen company that displays stones from around the world. The British cromlech that inspired the brand acts as a reference for generating the space’s geometry: a circular unit within which we can discover the different natural stones. Thus the various marble and quartzite hues do not contaminate one another, and the attention is focused on the material being observed. The space is apparently empty, neutral and white, ideal for discovering the different stones, some of which are semiprecious. Located concentrically, as with in Neolithic construction, is a comfortable conference room upholstered fully in black. The premises is also used as an exhibition space. Inside, the developed pieces of furniture are displayed, with natural stone taking centre stage. The third and final use of the space is to house some of the brand’s offices.
The natural light is filtered through skylights, and artificial lighting helps interpret the space’s geometry, which is drawn on the ceiling.
The commercial project continues with the opening of spaces sharing the same values in various European capitals, starting with the modernist building of the Colón Market in Valencia.
