Sra. Emilia communications and advertising agency

Description Technical file

Containment, restraint and intelligence in design lead to this
attractive interior design project intended for an advertising and communications company in the Galicia town of Tui.

The commission for this project consists of designing ground-floor retail premises for a communications
and advertising company in the town of Tui, Pontevedra.
The elongated floor plan of the premises, with a large, west-facing glass façade and two large east-facing windows at the back, already suggested a longitudinal route in which daylight would be the lure for moving forward through the space.
For performing their activities, the owners required a programme with three differentiated rooms: reception, meeting room and work area equipped with an anechoic room. A linear scheme was arranged on this basis, with the rooms visually interconnected in a clear and simple way. When entering, customers have an overall view of the company’s operations and work processes.
In terms of design, a succession of transparencies, superpositions and intersections was created, becoming ever clearer as one walks through the premises. The view is endowed with a certain degree of complexity, gradually revealed as one walks towards the back of the space.
Of all the rooms that have been designed, the meeting room is the central space, the heart of the company. A static space free of ornament, information or product. A space where ideas have weight and importance because the true sales product is transmitted in this room. A product that is complicated to sell and whose importance has to be transmitted in an environment free of references.
The reception is a great showcase displaying to the public the action of moving, classifying and choosing the material involved in the activity. For this space, a network of pillars was designed that marks the different circulations you can follow.
With the clear intention of boosting the proposed design, the use of colours and materials was simplified and black was chosen for the existing container and white for the new spatial intervention, thus using a stage set language through which the container disappears. For its part, the colour white unifies different materials such as MDF or iron, leaving only the bare OSB flakeboard with the intention of filling the space with warmth.
